THE SIZZLING STONE * ORIGINAL RESTAURANT

The hotel lays on buses to the old town, but the new town of Albufeira is just a short walk away. The main strip is a bit tacky and unimpressive, but if you just want to wander around, you can pick up a free map, available locally at most bars. For eating out it's best to go to the old town, but Sizzling Stone is just around the corner. A meal there will set you back about £15 including wine.

But The Strip’s best eaterie is the Sizzling Stone — a cottage-style place where you can even cook your meat or fish yourself on an oven-fired stone that is brought to your table. After one night on The Strip we ate out for the rest of the holiday in the Old Town.
